WETLANDS 

“Dartmoor is an unyielding and shapes the memories of all who visit and live there. The power she yields impact on us both physically and emotionally. This unique and ancient wetland habitat , with its precious ancient granite tors ,towers in the distance above Ashburton.

Currently I am working with found mark making tools and organic texture to create two dimensional observational pieces throughout the year of Dartmoor’s Bogs.  

Bogs are a precious carbon storer which is so vital , acting as a magnet for wildlife and creating a visual symbol of hope drawing wildlife and people in to the often distant pin of reflective light.

Running through Dartmoor daily I observe the textures of the moss and bark through in the mist or the way a stream carves through the ground. I am exploring my own relationship with Dartmoor and how its given me a sense of place and hope. 

In time I wish to develop the project to explore other peoples connection with Dartmoor.
